2025 Social Security COLA Notice

The Social Security Administration announced that beneficiaries will see a 2.5% increase in their benefit payments in 2025.

In December 2024, a one-page notice will be available online to most beneficiaries in the Message Center of their my Social Security account. The simplified COLA notice provides exact dates and dollar amounts of a person’s new benefit amount and any deductions.

It's important to note that the exact increase to your monthly payment may depend on Medicare Part B premiums, which are projected to rise to $184 per month in 2025. Medicare Part B premiums are typically deducted from your Social Security benefit. 

The annual cost of living (COLA) adjustment will affect more than 72.5 million Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries.
